Viral Marketing and YouTube

With over 5,000 wine brands in the U.S. alone, how does a winery get their wine noticed? That's the $64,000 question. Every state makes wine and the quality is just getting better and better.

The traditional way has been through a distributor promoting your brand in the marketplace. It makes their job even easier if the wine gets a high score from Wine Spectator or Robert Parker.  That's a crapshoot.  A winery needs to take their destiny into their own hands. Video is one of the best marketing tools available to us.

The more humerous--the more viral.  That why we set out to just do something fun and film. Friends who are shareholders stopped by and the brainstorming began. We came up with all kinds of great ideas but our first one is "Thinking out of the Box."Picture 019 We had a lot of fun filming. You can see the end result below.Picture 015

The YouTube link is broken (missing colon). The correct URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgUOCIXbuWQ

You should also learn how to embed videos in your page (it's pretty easy -- the YouTube page has the HTML code which you can drop into TypePad using the "Edit HTML" tab). Let me know if you need some help with this.

Glad to see you blogging and doing video. Who was the "lucky" actor?

More and more people are looking at Viral Marketing as a way to promote a product.

Someone browsing YouTube might see your video and be interested in trying your product which, if they like it, they will recomend it to friends.

It's a system which works as it uses word of mouth to spread your message and something which everyone should look into as part of a marketing campaign.
